Privacy Policy

Overview

AEGIS routes your internet traffic through decentralized exit nodes and charges per-request in USDC. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

AEGIS is designed with privacy as the foundation. We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the network and never sell your data to third parties.

Data we collect

  • Solana wallet address — used to identify your account and process USDC payments.
  • Email address — optional, collected only if you sign in via email or join the waitlist.
  • Account balance — a running USDC total per wallet. We debit it as you consume bandwidth; we do not keep a per-session history.
  • Bandwidth counts — byte totals are processed in memory to meter a live session, then discarded once the balance is updated. They are not written to disk as session records.
  • Node operator data — endpoint and wallet address of node operators who register on the network.

Data we do not collect

  • Destination URLs or domain names of sites you visit.
  • Content of your HTTP requests or responses.
  • Your originating IP address (it is never logged by exit nodes).
  • Browsing history.

How we use your data

  • To authenticate your account and manage your USDC balance.
  • To route requests through the exit node network.
  • To bill you accurately for bandwidth consumed.
  • To detect abuse and maintain network integrity.

Data sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal data to third parties. Exit node operators only ever see aggregate byte counts for their own payout — never your wallet address, your identity, or your destination URLs.

We use Supabase as our database provider and Solana as the payment rail. Both are governed by their own privacy policies.

Data retention

We do not keep per-session logs. Bandwidth is metered in memory during a live session and discarded once your balance is updated — there is no timestamped session history to retain or hand over. What persists is the minimum needed to run your account: your wallet address and current USDC balance, kept as long as your account is active, plus your email if you provided one. You may request deletion at any time.

On-chain payment transactions live on the public Solana ledger, which is immutable and outside our control.

Chrome extension

The AEGIS browser extension uses the Chrome proxy API to route traffic. It stores your API key, session state, and settings locally using chrome.storage.local. No extension data is transmitted to third parties.

Your rights

  • Access — you can view your current balance in the dashboard. Because we keep no per-session logs, there is no usage history to retrieve.
  • Deletion — email us to request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Portability — your account data (wallet, balance, email) can be exported on request.
